PRESIDENT’S TROPHY

Presented by John Harding in 1989 for the member gaining most points in open & set subject in slides & prints, (PDI & prints in 2009 & 2010) from all sections. From 2011 awarded to the member gaining most points in PDI & prints in the advanced section. John was president for many years from the mid 1980s.

ALBERT BRAITHWAITE TROPHY

Presented by Albert Braithwaite in 2011 for the member gaining most points in PDI & prints in the general section.

SMALL CUP

Donor unknown. Presented in mid 1960s (exact date unknown) for the member gaining most points in the beginners open print section. After being unused for many years, reintroduced in 2009 for the member gaining most points for mono prints in the general section.

STAN STEEL TROPHY

Presented by Stan Steel in late 1960s (exact date unknown) for a cine film. After the cine section of the club ended in the early 1970s, it was awarded to the member gaining most points for colour prints in the advanced section.

Stan Steel was chairman of the club for one season in the late 1960s, before moving out of the district.

LARGE WOODEN SHEILD

Presented by Joe Scrivener in 1965 for the member gaining most points for open colour slides in the advanced section. From 2009 it was awarded to the member gaining most points for colour prints in the general section.

Presented by Joe Scrivener in 1965 for the member gaining most points for open prints (later mono prints) in the advanced section.

SMALL WOODEN PLAQUE

Bought by the club in 2011 for the member gaining most points in mono PDI in the advanced section.

Bought by the club for presentation at the 2008 annual exhibition. From 2010 awarded to the member gaining most points for mono PDI in the general section.

BUCKS EXAMINER CUP

Presented by the Bucks Examiner in 1971 for the member gaining most points for open colour slides in the intermediate section (last won in 2000). Since 2007 awarded to the member gaining most points in PDI in the advanced section.

REED CUP

Presented by Don Reed of Reed Photography in late 1960s (exact date unknown) for a cine film. After the cine section of the club ended in the early 1970s, the cup was unused for many years. From 1987 to 2008 it was awarded to the member winning the set subject print of the year, and from 2009 it was awarded to the member gaining most points in colour PDI in the general section.

CHESHAM DAIRIES CUP

Presented by Chesham Dairies in 1969 for the member winning the print of the year (later mono print of the year) in the advanced section.

LES SLATTER CUP

Presented by Les Slatter, one of the original members of the club, in the mid 1980s (exact date unknown) for the member winning the set subject slide of the year. Since 2009 awarded to the member winning mono print of the year in the general section.

GLAMOURLINE CUP

Presented by Glamourline, local firm producing roller blinds, in 1988 for the member winning colour print of the year in the advanced section.

JAN LASOTA TROPHY

Presented by Jan Lasota in the late 1960s (exact date unknown) for the member gaining most points in set subject prints. Since 2009 awarded to the member winning colour print of the year in the general section. Jan was a member of the club from the mid 1960s for about 35 years.

Bought by the club for presentation at the 2008 annual exhibition. From 2010 awarded to the member winning mono print of the year in the advanced section.

DARVELL CUP

Presented by Joe Darvell (of Darvells Bakery) in 1969 for the member winning slide of the year, from 2009 PDI of the year. Joe was a member of the club during the early years of the club.

FLELLO TROPHY (CUP)

Presented by Hilda Flello in 1976 for a panel of mono prints. This trophy was presented by Hilda in memory of her husband Stan Flello, who died in 1975. Stan was one of the original members of the club, and produced top quality mono prints.

RAY FRANKLIN TROPHY (CUP)

Presented by Ray Franklin in 2003 for a natural history slide, PDI from 2009.

HARRIES TROPHY

Presented by Kathrine Harries, a councillor on the Chesham UDC, in 1973 for a local subject. Has alternated between slides & prints over the years, though between 2009 and 2014 it was awarded for prints.

HUNT TROPHY

Presented by John Hunt, a local portrait photographer, in 1982 for a print depicting personal mood. Has alternated between prints & slides over the years, but since 2009 can be used for prints or PDI.

SCRIVENER TROPHY

Presented by Irene Scrivener in 1976 for a panel of colour prints. This trophy was presented by Irene Scrivener in memory of her husband Joe Scrivener, who founded the club in 1963. Joe was the club’s first chairman, and later served for many years as president.

WHITTLE TROPHY

Produced & presented by Ken Whittle in 1972 for a portrait. Ken Whittle was a wood carver, who worked for most of his life at a local woodware factory.

WILLIS TROPHY (CUP)

Presented by Barbara Willis in 2003 for a wedding photograph. Because of the low number of entries, this was changed to a local event subject in 2009. Then in 2011 it was changed to “Sport”. Presented by Barbara in memory of her husband Brian Willis who died in 2002. Brian was a member of the club for about 20 years, and served as chairman for two years during the 1990s. He was also a keen wedding photographer.

CHAIRMAN’S TROPHY

Presented by Eileen Berridge in 1982. Choice of medium & subject to be made by chairman. Eileen was a member of the club during the 1970s and 1980s, during which time she served for several years as chairman.

CHILTERN TROPHY

Presented by Geoff Walker in 2011 for a panel of prints by a group of three members depicting the Chilterns.


Other Trophies

GLASSPOOL & THAISS CUP

Presented by Frank Glasspool in 1972 for the member gaining most points in slides set subject. Has been unused since 2009. Frank was a member of the club for several years during the 1970s, and also ran a small architectural business in the Broadway Chesham.

MAY ANNIE CUP

No details of donor available. Awarded to the member gaining most points in the enprint section. Unused since 2007.

ENPRINT SET SUBJECT CUP

Presented in 2004 by Nina Armour for the member gaining most points in enprints set subject. Unused since 2007.
