Anniversary Exhibition a Huge Success

Les Slatter’s son at exhibition

Saturday 26th October 2013 saw Chesham Photographic Club hold its 49th Annual Exhibition at the Town Hall. Visitor numbers were high and the club members running the refreshment stall did a brisk trade in home made cakes and tea.

There was also a collection of original photographs taken by one of the club’s founder members Les Slatter dating back to the 60’s, kindly donated for the event by his son.

As well as treating visitors to some 100 printed images and an Audio Visual presentation, the club also ran a Tombola with prizes generously donated by the following local shops and businesses: Bedworld, Blue Haze Arts & Crafts, Boots, Brazils Cafe, Broadway Barbers, Broadway News, Brown Sugar, Chesham Cameras, Confident Computing, Cuisine Delight, Domesco, FMY Chemist, Faith Hair, Fit 4 Less, Flix Hair & Beauty, Gold & Jewels, Hatfield House, Healing Point, Health Right, JPS Stationers, Klass Kuts, M&Co, Magic Hands Skin Care Centre, Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe, Optomeyes Opticians, Orbit Press, Perfect Pitch, Pet Essentials, Poppins Restaurant, Pretty Nails, Principal Hairdressing, Rumbles Pantry, Smart Cartridge, The Flower Box, The Pink Orchids, Total Look Home & You, Turner& Browning Opticians, USA Diamond Nails, Waffle House, Waitrose and L-Collections of Berkhamsted.

At the prize giving, club President Chris Sargeant commended the level of creativity shown by the entrants in this year’s competition with the set subject being ‘Something Old’. Yet again Chesham Grammar School had excelled due to the support and encouragement shown by its teaching staff.

Visitors to the exhibition were asked to vote for their favourite photograph. The one receiving most votes was this lovely picture of a fox, taken by Nigel Childs. Well done Nigel!

The Club would like to thank all those who have supported them again this year in making the Exhibition a success in their golden jubilee year.
